Not Seen, Not Heard
Purpose
To create an optimal learning environment free from distractions, the following phone policy will be enforced.
Policy Details
- Phone Status:
- All phones must be turned off before entering the school premises.
- Phones must remain off during all school hours.
- Storage Options:
- Students have two options for storing their phones during the school day:
- School-Provided Box: Students can place their phones in a designated box provided by the school.
- Personal Storage: Students may keep their phones in their school bags, ensuring they remain off for the entire day.
- Prohibited Usage:
- If a student is seen using a phone during school hours, the phone will be confiscated.
- Consequences:
- Confiscated phones will only be returned when a parent or guardian comes to the school to collect it.
- Implementation
- Daily Routine: Upon arriving at school, students must immediately turn off their phones and store them according to their chosen option.
- Monitoring: Teachers and staff will monitor compliance throughout the day.
- Parent Communication: Parents will be informed about the policy at the beginning of the school year and reminded periodically.
- Additional Notes
- This policy applies to all students without exception.
- Emergency contact with students during school hours should be directed through the school’s main office.
- Repeated violations of this policy may lead to further disciplinary actions as outlined in the school's code of conduct.
