Greek Community School At St.Cyprian's is a voluntary school for boys and girls, located in Thorton Heath. The school is governed by a body of seven governors.
The school primarily serves the Greek community in the local area of London, however, the Governing Body welcomes applications from students of other province, as long as they support the school's values and ethos.
Admissions to the school are the responsibility of the Governing Body, who aim to admit up to 200 students from nursery to GCSE and A-levels, without considering their ability or aptitude. The Governors will not exceed this enrollment cap if it would compromise the quality of education or efficient use of resources.
Waiting list
Places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Parents are advised to register their child as early as possible to secure a spot. In the event that applications exceed 200, the school administration will maintain a waitlist.
The waiting list will be maintained until the end of the academic year and will follow the same admission criteria as listed above. However, being on the waiting list does not guarantee that a place will become available.
Admission of Children Outside their Normal Age Group
Parents may request that their child be admitted outside of the normal age group, for example if the child is gifted and talented or has experienced health issues. Any such request should be made in writing to the headteacher at the time of the admission application. The Headteacher and the Governing Body will consider the request based on the individual circumstances and in the best interests of the child. They will take into account the views of the headteacher, as well as any medical or education professionals, and the parents.
